Ragnarok Online OST - Monastery in Disguise

Ragnarok Online's OST is the best soundtrack ever made for a MMORPG. The compossers, SoundTeMP, created soundtracks for many other korean MMOs: MapleStory, Granado Espada, FlyFF, Silkroad Online, and more.

Dead Can Dance - Summoning of the Muse

From the comments of this video:
"I would love to listen to this music in an open field with the wind in my face".
I couldn't agree more.

Bayonetta OST - The Greatest Jubilee

I can't believe the epicness of this piece. It's a 7-minute warcry written by the gods of battle.

Evangelion OST - The Beast II

Evangelion is my favourite anime ever. Also, it made this blog possible.

Some 15 years ago, when Evangelion was the new thing, I got an anime magazine which included a CD with videos, music and pictures. Internet access was rare and expensive in my country, so this kind of magazines was my only window to the world of manga.

The CD included some songs from Evangelion, and seriously -- they blew my mind. I vividly remember telling a friend something along the line of: "this is it, I'm going to collect epic music from now on". His response was: "are you even listening to yourself?".

Yes I was.

Two Steps from Hell - Hypnotica

Two Steps from Hell is a group which makes music for movie trailers -- exclusively. How cool is that?

Tsubasa Chronicle OST - A Song of Storm and Fire

Yuki Kajiura is a genius and an innovator. Noir and Tsubasa Chronicle have some of the best OSTs ever made.

Escaflowne OST - Dance of Curse

This is one of those movies made so they could show a 5 minute scene. It's a two-hour yawnfest interrupted by one of the best (and few) mecha sword duels ever. Of course, this is the soundtrack to that scene. Watch the battle here.

I love this song with all my heart because it was one of the first epic soundtracks I listened to, back when I was in high school. Its clean and vibrant strings are truly sublime. I could only compare them with The Flight of the Lord of Flies, by Therion. I should post that song someday.

Rhapsody of Fire - Epicus Furor

Rhapsody of Fire used to be one of my favourite bands. Unfortunately Triumph or Agony failed to catch my attention. Fortunately I still have songs like this one to relive old glories.
